Barcelona is Back!
Just over four months ago, they were in 9th place – now they are 3rd. The world’s best betting sites had written them off, but now there is a lot of talk about them again. In the first 29 games of this season, Barcelona scored 40 goals, and in the last 11 games, they found the net of the rival 27 times. Barcelona plays inspiring, efficient, and effective. After the magic in the biggest European derby and demolishing the arch-rival at his “Santiago Bernabeu” with 4:0, it is clear to everyone: Barca is back!
Until last night, Barcelona last time defeated Real Madrid in March 2019. At that time, Ivan Rakitic’s goal was enough for a minimal victory in the capital of Spain, and since then, the players of the Catalan giant have managed to draw one game and lost as many as five times in a row.

The collapse of one of the biggest football teams on the planet has been going on for two years. Third place in the 2020/21 season and second place a year earlier do not look so bad at first glance, but the quality of the performances was far from Barcelona’s reputation. Neither Ernesto Valverde nor Quique Settien, and finally Ronald Koeman managed to wake up the sleeping giant.
And when it was looming that this giant would be in despair for a long time, a plane flying on the Doha-Barcelona line landed at El Prat airport at the beginning of November, in which the rescuer, the famous Maestro, was. One of the best midfielders of all time, under whose baton the Blaugrana and the Red Fury are popular, played the most beautiful football in its rich history and won a lot of trophies.
Xavi took over the coaching helm from Dutchman Koeman, who left behind a roster full of players with shaky confidence interwoven with individuals of questionable quality who are simply not good enough to wear the Barca jersey. The fundamental Spaniard immediately set to work, wishing that this Barca would one day remind him of his when he sowed fear and trembling throughout the Iberian Peninsula and the old continent. And it took him just over 120 days.
His Barca had grandmasters such as Messi, Iniesta, Ronaldinho, Henry, Busquets, Pique, but the foundation of the team has always been players from the home school, the famous “La Masie”. This generation has them, but they have yet to become… Pedri, de Jong, Gavi, Araujo, Mingueza, and a few other individuals are extremely talented footballers, but we need someone who will carefully grind these diamonds and make them the finest football material.

Barca is now in third place in the LaLiga table with 12 points less than Real, but also one game less (against Rayo Vallecano). It should be noted that Madrid has a much more difficult schedule until the end of the season, so we should not rule out the possibility that Barcelona will get involved in the battle for the title.
All in all, Barca’s style of play is reminiscent of the football giant that captivated with its beauty and flutter for most of the new millennium, and Xavi’s team will continue to dream of winning the championship trophy. Maybe a dream becomes a reality, you never know.
