Bellator 280 Latest News & Stories – How to watch UFC live, betting trends and best bets

A great martial arts weekend is ahead of us, something for everyone! Bellator is coming to Europe this weekend; the event will be held in Paris and is bringing a duel for the heavyweight title. At the same time, the PFL is organizing the # 3 event in a row in Arlington, where the first round of the tournament in the welterweight category is being held, as well as the fight for the title in the women’s lightweight category.

Bader vs. Kongo
Two veterans are fighting for the heavyweight belt. Bader showed in the last fight when he defeated the temporary heavyweight champion Valentin Moldavski, which was somewhat unexpected. His opponent is another experienced fighter and MMA legend Cheick Congo. Congo is one of the oldest active fighters, he is 47 years old, and he is still in great shape. This time he is attacking the title in front of his audience, in his hometown. The last match was won by another veteran by drowning in the second round. The two fighters met at Bellator 226, which was unfortunately interrupted and declared NC after Bader stabbed a finger in the eye of Congo in the first round, after which the Frenchman could not continue the match.
When two experienced fighters who have been in the game for a long time meet like this, it is difficult to single out a segment of the fight in which they are better or worse. For example, Bader is a master of BJJ, a black belt, and a great wrestler, but he had his last SUB back in 2013 when he beat Matyshenka. While Congo is a karate fighter, he won his last matches in wrestling and BJJ. Experience, knowledge, and much more await us in this match. Interestingly, they have a total of 82 fights! And in the strongest possible organizations, with the strongest possible opponents.

Romero vs. Polizzi
The co-main event is a fight in the light heavyweight category, and Cuban Yoel Romero and American Alex Polizzi are meeting! Initially, the co-main was supposed to be a clash of veterans and freestyle wrestling legends. Melvin Manhoef was supposed to fight Romero, but ten days ago, he was forced to cancel the match, due to an injury he suffered, in a fight with burglars, at the end of March. Romero got a more dangerous opponent. Not by reputation but by current form. Polizzi is in a series of three victories, and he is a dangerous grappler who ends most of his fights on SUB. Namely, Romero is one of the best physically fit athletes in general, especially when we take into account his age. Yoel is an Olympic wrestler freestyle. He won a silver medal at the Sydney Olympics. He started with MMA relatively late, at the age of 33, and made great results.
One of the most exciting matches of the whole event in Paris is the clash of former UFC fighters Lorenzo Larkin and Kyle Stewart. True, Larkin is much more experienced and has left a bigger mark than Stewart in the UFC. Stewart had only two fights in the strongest organization and recorded two defeats, while Larkin has been fighting for many years in Strikeforce, UFC, and Bellator. Two fighters canceled Larkinβs fights for this event, so Stewart rushed in as a replacement.
Bellator 280 starts on Friday at 19:00 Central European Time. The introductory fights are broadcast on Bellator TV Youtube channel.
