Fantasy Premier League GW12 – Captaincy Options
We all know that captaincy is the single most important aspect of the Fantasy Premier League. A captaincy failure will, more often than not, ruin your gameweek to the point of a red arrow. A good captaincy return can improve an average week into one that is amazing or change your gameweek from bad to somewhat decent, as we’ve seen throughout the history of FPL.
A round without Erling Haaland and other Citizen players opens up space for other FPL acquisitions when it comes to the captain’s armband. Is it time for the great return of Liverpool’s Egyptian or to select another option – we will try to answer in the next few paragraphs.

Mohamed Salah (£12.7, 31.3% ownership, Liverpool vs. West Ham)
Liverpool defeated Manchester City 1-0 thanks to a goal from Mohamed Salah (£12.7m). He had scored five goals for the Reds in the previous four games across all competitions. In the Champions League last week, he also scored a hat trick in just six minutes against Rangers.
The Egyptian was Liverpool’s most dangerous player in the match against Citizens. In addition to the scored goal, he missed another 100% chance and recorded a total of three attempts. Since he played only 23 minutes in the aforementioned match against Rangers, we believe that Jurgen Klopp will give full minutes to his best player in this match as well.
Salah has produced three goals and one assist against West Ham in the last four meetings between the two teams. Therefore, we expect his new effective performance against the Hammers.
Harry Kane (£11.4, 23.4% ownership, Man Utd vs. Tottenham)
Last weekend, Harry Kane (£11.4m) continued the trend of scoring goals. The English striker scored the opening goal as Tottenham defeated Everton 2-0 in the previous round. Jordan Pickford, the goalkeeper for Everton, had previously fouled him before he converted the penalty.
It was his ninth consecutive FPL return. Kane has scored or assisted in each of his previous nine Premier League games. Although Tottenham travels to Old Trafford in the upcoming round, we have to consider Harry as a legitimate captain option for GW12.
Is there a third party?
Considering that the match between Arsenal and Manchester City has been postponed, this round is ideal for a differential option. There are several interesting players who can shine in GW12.
Leandro Trossard (£6.9m) scored four goals in the last four games, and in this round, Brighton plays against Nottingham Forest in front of their fans. The guests have the second-weakest defense in the entire Premier League and have conceded as many as 23 goals in 10 matches.
Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.7m) recovered from injury and was the starter in the match against Bournemouth in the previous round. The Serbian striker scored from the penalty spot, which was his seventh of the season. Fulham host Aston Villa on Thursday and the Villans’ defensive line is quite vulnerable this season.
